At Forsite we will excel by being a flexible, adaptable, people oriented business that grows and profits by creating value for our customers and opportunities for our employees. We will apply our skills, knowledge and technologies to be the best forest management company.
Incorporated in 1987, Forsite has been delivering effective natural resource management and development services to government and industry clients for 30 years.
Started in Salmon Arm, B.C. by a small group of committed professionals focused on operational delivery of timber development and reforestation, Forsite has grown to be a leading provider of integrated forest land development and management services to clients across Western Canada and the world. We strive to ensure that as we continue to grow, we stay true to our roots, focused above all on client service and value, delivering solutions that make operational sense to our clients’ bottom line.
Forsite’s focus is on creating value for our clients in the area of forest management. Whether it is individual specialty services or a full program management solution, we strive to ensure we have satisfied customers by providing a quality product, in a timely manner, for a fair price.
We are an innovative company that takes pride in delivering cost-effective services. The quality of our work is reflected by the fact that the majority of our work is repeat business from satisfied customers.
Internally, Forsite is comprised of business units that focus on different components of the forest management process. Forsite provides expertise in 10 different service areas. Our organizational structure allows Forsite to develop specialists in each area, while still providing a complete forest management solution at a corporate level.
Forsite employs a staff of over 130 employees and maintains 11 offices in BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Forsite’s geographic diversity and size provides economies of scale to deliver quality, timely and cost effective forest management services throughout Western Canada.
Object Raku Technology and Forsite have a strategic partnership to deliver individual tree inventory solutions to our clients. Object Raku Technology's Timber Species Identifier (TSI) is a system of automated software components that allow individual trees to be extracted and analyzed directly from LiDAR data. The information is used to determine the location, species, height, DBH, and log product volumes for individual trees. This type of operational inventory data allows forest companies to further realize return on investment from LiDAR acquisitions through efficient targeting of specific log products – while trees are on the stump over large geographic areas.
Woodco was incorporated in 2003 with a focus on the acquisition, sorting and merchandising of log products. The business has evolved and grown since that time and we have added milling and manufacturing of mat and bridge products. Our facilities are located in Barriere, BC – 45 minutes north of Kamloops. Woodco harvests and/or purchases 60,000m3 of logs per year, generates 9 million fbm of timber and lumber products and produces 4000 units of various timber mats and bridge components. Woodco works with major forest companies and First Nations and government to secure log supply and ensure a consistent supply of wood products to an ever growing list of satisfied customers. Woodco's focus is to get the right product to the right customer at the right time.
